‘exploring cultural, heritage villages within beautiful Langtang Himal range’

Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking, an interesting moderate country walks visiting as well exploring immense culture of age-old and heritage of Tamang ethnic tribe of hill people interwoven with Buddhism and ancient practice of Bon (pre Buddhism).

A wonderful walk of more than a week duration where you will get immersed within beautiful landscapes of rolling hills and mountains of Central Himalaya which includes Langtang and Ganesh Himal at close range in the harmony of Tamang colorful culture and traditions.

Starting with overland drive with exciting views into rural farm villages and town as ride leads past Kathmandu valley western suburb, heading into cooler hills to reach at Langtang Himal areas of Rasuwa district at Dhunche and Syabrubesi in the land of Tamang people where traditions similar to Tibetan way of life.

Walk begins in the shade of high Ganesh and Langtang Himal as our route leads to Tamang villages of Gatlang-Tatopani-Thuman and Briddim with Thulo Syabru exploring its age-old culture of great interest within nice villages greeted with warm hospitality, visiting old monastery and traditional style houses.

Beside mountain views and lovely cultural villages walk leads into cool enchanting forested areas full of tall rhododendron (national flower of Nepal), magnolia, oaks, pines and fir tree lines where sometimes one can spot rare elusive Red Panda and other animals with exotic bird life.

After a mesmerizing and marvelous time on high hills and valley of Langtang Himal area our journey ends at Dhunche town for scenic drive back to Kathmandu with wonderful memories and amazing time on Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: On arrival in Kathmandu meet our staff for transfer to hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome and greetings and then transfer to your hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city. After checking into your rooms getting refreshed from Jet-Lag, a quiet environment after getting refreshed join at main hall or in lobby where our guide will provide briefing on treks-hotels with necessary information. Evening includes group dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with folk culture program with various dances of Nepal while having your authentic Nepalese dinner with local entertainment.

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m North of Kathmandu via Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs

Starting marvelous trek to Langtang valley, heading North West from Kathmandu taking an exciting overland drive past many farm villages and towns within low warmer valley of Trisuli Bazaar, and then towards cooler areas to reach at Dhunche, headquarter and administrative town of Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal. From here entering into Langtang National Park, our journey continues downhill on zig-zag winding road to reach at Syabrubesi village in a nice local lodge for overnight halt.

Day 03: Trek to Gatlang 2,200 m - 05 hrs

Our first day walk of marvelous trip heading towards fairly large and interesting Tamang village of Gatlang village, where our route leads further north west avoiding the motor-able road taking an old trekking path above the main road. As walk enters into high hills with superb scenery of surrounding landscapes as our out trail leads ups and down and then reaching our destination for overnight stop at impressive village of Gatlang. Here with time to visit its traditional villages and monasteries interwoven with Buddhism culture and heritage, greeted by friendly villagers in traditional custom.

Day 04: Trek to Tatopani 2,607 m - 06 hrs

Morning begins on leaving this interesting nice village Gatlang heading North West walking on neat stone paved steps for a while, past terraced farm fields of millets and barley with ever present views of massive Ganesh Himal with Manaslu and Langtang Himal. As walk proceeds reaching our overnight stop at Tatopani village, a place with hot natural spring, where name Tato Pani derive from. Here enjoy leisure afternoon visiting its nice Tamang houses of intricate carving on windows and doors and then refresh yourself in the hot spring located near to the village.

Day 05: Trek to Thuman 2,400 m via Nagthali - 06 hrs

On leaving Tato-Pani enjoying its warm pools and cultural villages, as morning walk leads on the trail towards Tibet border for few hours to reach at Thuman village via high Nagthali ridge. A gentle walk follows on gradual winding path towards north and then with climb for some hours encountering few short descend overlooking views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal, as walk leads enters into cool shade of alpine woodland then reaching at Nagthali village. Here with possible lunch stop, and then continue walks to our overnight stop at Thuman village with ample time to explore around this nice remote farm village of immense culture and age-old heritage.

Day 06: Trek to Briddim 2,345 m - 06 hrs.

After a wonderful time on this rural farm village with views of snow clad peaks, morning walk starts with a climb to a ridge with more super scenery of surrounding green landscapes dotted with villages and of mountains. As walk progress heading into nice forest full of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees and then slowly our day comes to an end on reaching at Briddim village for overnight stop.

Day 07: Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 350 m - 06 hrs

From Briddim village, walking on nice mountain trail then with slow climb up to a ridge past farm terraces entering into cool lovely woodland to reach a high hill top with superb views of Langtang Himal with Ganesh peaks. As our walk leads to a descend through deep forest of tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks and pines with patch of bamboo groves to reach a open areas at Lama Hotel. A nice peaceful spot with number of lodges surrounded within green woodland and close to upper Trisuli River located in a gorge.

Day 08: Trek to Thulo Syabru 2,118 -05 hours.

From Lama Hotel morning walk to riverside at Bamboo small spot with few small Tea-House and lodges, as walk leads to a steep climb for few hours and then on winding gradual path to reach at Thulo Syabru for overnight halt, sometimes also called as Upper Syabru with houses on a row situated on a high ridge with an old monastery on top of the village.

Day 9: Trek to Dhunche - 05 hrs walks.

After an enjoyable time around Tamang heritage villages of immense culture, today our last day walk of this wonderful journey, as walk leads to a long descend into deep forested areas and then reaching to a river, on crossing a bridge back into main road a short winding climb leads at Dhunche town for last overnight around Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal.

Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu and then transfer to your hotels

Morning after breakfast an exciting drive back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, green scenery of hills and farm fields driving past nice villages and towns as journey brings you back at hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu transfer to your respective hotels with time for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 11: Depart for international flight home ward bound or to respective countries

Last day in the country of high and beautiful Himalayas as per your international flight transfer to Kathmandu international airport for homeward bound or to next port of call after a wonderful and mesmerizing time on Tamang Heritage Trail trekking with grand service of Tramping Himalaya Adventures.
