About Tramping Himalaya Adventures

"For safe and enjoyable Himalayan adventures and holidays"

Tramping Himalaya Adventures Pvt. Ltd. is a locally owned and government-registered trekking company in Nepal, based in Budhanilkantha-11, Kathmandu. With more than 33 years of Himalayan experience, we organise guided trekking holidays, peak climbing, hiking trips,high-altitude treks, cultural tours, jungle safaris, and  customised adventure travel in Nepal. Every itinerary is carefully designed by our team to provide safe, enjoyable, and authentic Himalayan experiences. We do not design mass market tours; we craft personalised, small group journeys for solo travellers, families, couples, and private groups who seek an honest, deeply authentic relationship with the mountains.

Our company exists to bridge the gap between world class international safety standards and the genuine warmth of Nepalese hospitality. We believe that true adventure travel in Nepal requires moving beyond standard tourist trails to understand the living culture, fragile ecosystems, and ancient rhythms of the high hills. By keeping our operations local, independent, and founder-led, we ensure that every itinerary honors the landscapes we call home and directly supports the communities that sustain them.

While Tramping Himalaya Adventures was founded by Dawa Pun, every successful journey is made possible by a dedicated team of licensed trekking guides, climbing guides, porters, and office professionals. Together, we share the same commitment to safety, professionalism, responsible tourism, and genuine Nepalese hospitality. With years of experience in the Himalayas, our team works together to ensure every traveller enjoys a safe, well organised, and memorable adventure.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of guiding thousands of travellers from around the world. Many of our guests return to explore Nepal with us again or recommend Tramping Himalaya Adventures to their family and friends. Their trust, positive reviews, and continued support reflect our commitment to providing safe, personalised, and memorable Himalayan adventures.

From Porter to Founder

"A journey carried, quite literally, on his own back."

Man Bahadur Rantija Pun, known throughout the trekking community as Dawa Pun, was born in Nepal's Annapurna region, where mountain trails connected villages long before roads reached many communities. He didn't study tourism. He learned it the way most Himalayan guides do: by carrying loads as a porter, watching how weather changes before it arrives, and listening to elders who could read a mountain the way others read a book.

He spent years working with internationally respected adventure travel companies, including Intrepid Travel, Shoestring Travel, and G Adventures, progressing from porter to guide and eventually to trek leader. Along the way, he guided thousands of travellers through the Khumbu, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, Mustang, Dolpo, and the high passes of eastern Nepal. Clients remembered him not for grand promises, but for something rarer: he told the truth about conditions, made safety calls that sometimes disappointed people in the short term, and got everyone home well.

That reputation is what eventually led him to start his own company. Dawa Pun founded Tramping Himalaya Adventures because he kept meeting travellers who wanted more than a scheduled itinerary handed off between agencies. They wanted a trekking company in Nepal actually run by someone who had spent his life in these mountains. The name reflects that intention: a company built by a local expert, for people who want an authentic, well-run journey into the Himalaya. Today, that same philosophy continues to guide every member of the Tramping Himalaya Adventures team.

His standing in the mountaineering community isn't only anecdotal. In 2019, Dawa Pun set his first Guinness World Record by leading a high altitude fitness session at 5,515 meters in the Himalayas. Three years later, at Mera Peak High Camp, he broke his own record leading a fitness class at 6,036 meters, one of the highest ever conducted. Both achievements were less about spectacle and more about proving a point he's built his career on: with the right preparation, acclimatization, and local knowledge, the mountains are far more accessible than people assume.

More than three decades after carrying his first trekking load through the Himalayas, Dawa Pun still believes that the role of a guide is not simply to reach the destination. It is to protect, educate, encourage, and help every traveller experience Nepal with confidence, respect, and a genuine understanding of its mountains and people.
